ABOUT DR. PAYNE
Dr. Jayne Payne brings more than three decades of experience working with individuals navigating trauma and substance use disorders. As Clinical Director of ANew Recovery, she leads the clinical team and defines the philosophy of care across the program.
Her work focuses on the intersection of trauma and addiction. Over time, she has developed a clear clinical perspective: the behaviors that bring people into treatment are rarely random. They are adaptations formed in response to pain, loss, or overwhelming experiences.
That understanding shapes how she works with every client.
Rather than focusing solely on behavior, Dr. Payne helps individuals identify the underlying drivers behind it. This process provides more than symptom relief. It creates clarity, self understanding, and a foundation for sustainable change.
She has been featured on Larry King Live and is recognized for her contributions to trauma informed addiction care.
her approach
Insight Driven. Individual. Built for Long Term Change.
Dr. Payne’s approach is individualized by design. No two clients receive the same framework, because no two histories are the same.
What remains consistent is her method: understanding before intervention.
She works with clients to move beyond behavior change and toward insight, helping them understand the origins of their responses and how those responses developed over time. This shift creates the conditions for lasting change.
Her clinical perspective is grounded in decades of direct experience, ongoing study, and a core set of principles:
-
Why She Starts With "Why"
She believes that healing begins the moment a person feels truly seen, not just assessed, labeled, or processed. Her sessions create that experience. Clients work with her not just to change behavior but to understand the patterns that drove it.
-
What Makes Recovery Stick
Most relapses happen because the root causes were never addressed. Dr. Payne's work focuses on the adaptations people developed in response to early pain and replacing them with something that actually holds under pressure.
-
Clinical Rigor Meets Human Presence
Her approach draws from decades of direct clinical work and continuous research. But what her clients remember most is that she was genuinely present, not just technically skilled.
-
A Different Kind of Progress
She measures success not by compliance but by understanding. When a client can explain why a pattern developed and what they are building instead, that is when real recovery has begun.
IN HER OWN WORDS
The Beliefs That Guide Her Work
-
Insight creates choice, and choice creates change.
-
Many of the problems we face today began as solutions that once worked.
